This problem has been annoying me for months. Every office program I've ever used lets me just put an image file inside of the document/spreadsheet/presentation, without placing a copy of it somewhere else on the C: drive. Standalone OnlyOffice does this, so I can't wrap my head around why CryptDrive would have this limitation that doesn't seem to exist in any other office suite. The closed Github issue suggests this isn't trivial to fix, but also states that if the user unchecks "owned file" and "store the file in your CryptDrive," then the image will be inserted without creating a copy on your drive. If it works under those conditions, why can't it behave similarly for an owned file, without the 90 days limitation? I just can't grasp how this bizarre, undesirable behavior became part of CryptDrive, and why it's difficult enough to remain unfixed 2 years after the original Github request.
Edit: Also asking to confirm - am I right in understanding that an image inserted with "owned file" unchecked will vanish from the document in 90 days?
