trying to backup a batch, downloading multiple files some of which are large, i am not sure if i will backup all the files. After 60 seconds, the file stops downloading if it takes too long. How can i fix this?

Hello,

Depending on your device, the download of multiple files can be quite resources hungry. To make it short:

  1. Every file needs to be downloaded on your web browser
  2. Then they are decrypted
  3. And finally they are converted in the format you want

If your device is a bit old, or under-powered, it can take some time. Same if you use a Virtual Private Network (VPN), or have a bad downlink connection from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

I would recommend trying with smaller batches of files and see how it goes.

@seon IMHO this is indeed a problem (I have the same problem) but I also think it's a trade off when to cancel. My guess is, that the conversion is the main time consuming step so maybe "native" ODS format will take less time.

Maybe you can try it. Of course it's not a solution but a step in the right direction.

IMHO the download / backup functionality is still basic because the CryptPad team has so much tasks to do like every open source project.

Anyway, please give feedback so that this thread does not abandon. Thanks.
