Unable to install OnlyOffice from script

@Fineness9996 Yoe were to fast for me. Please recover the old state if possible before you removed the whole 2 directories. It's always a bad idea to change too many variables while analysing an error. So now I don't know if your page error message is because of the removed directories or because of the old problem.

Regarding "Failed to load https://pad.dld.com/common/onlyoffice/current-version.js?ver=2024.9.0-1729722080651." I have no idea if this is a message in the shell, in a log on or on the page (???). :-) And regarding shell, what the output is before the error message :-)

@Fineness9996 Ok, some wild guesses:

If I understand right, the load fail error message is an error message in your browser on your web page. If so, please post a screenshot if possible (please censor private infos before).
Please check if the file exists:
/home/cryptpad/cryptpad/www/common/onlyoffice/current-version.js
Please check the content of the file, it should state a line: currentVersion: 'v7'
Please check teh permissions of the file / directory, owner should be your cryptpad user cryptpad and permissions should all be -rw-rw-r--.
Please consider restarting the cryptpad service or the server. I don't know how cryptpad reacts since we modified its Onlyoffice installation during run time.

Maybe it's that easy and some of this 5 points solves your subsequent problem.

this worked partly
current-version.js was missing so I replaced it with version from an older copy
but then also 'www/common/onlyoffice/ooiframe.js' is missing
so I guess cryptpad must be injecting photos to the folders before onlyoffice is installed
I will try to go this route

Regarding the output of install-onlyoffice.sh

unzip needs to be installed to run this script

This is triggered by line 37 of install-onlyoffice.sh where "x2t" gets installed, an import and export module which gets installed in /www/common/onlyoffice/dist/x2t.

I don't know why the missing unzip command didn't occur during the regular (new / clean) CryptPad installation, but since unzip is a common command it's a good idea to install it (before CryptPad isntallation). Ok, lesson learned.

is there a way to install clean cryptpad and move the data from old one into it?

@Fineness9996 AFAIK there is little information (e.g. documentation, forum, blogs, reddit, internet search) about migrating data from one CryptPad installation to another.

The only descripition I know of is in the docs here:

So this would mean simply moving the 4 data directories, but I haven't tried it myself. You could try it and tell afterwards to solve possible problems.

P.S.
Please give feedback when you have tried the 5 quick steps I suggested regarding your load fail error message. Users in the future will look for a solution for the invalid reference problem. At the moment they will only find a discontinued effort since you changed (?) your strategy to reinstall and migration (BTW: I would have suggested to start a new forum thread for this if I'm honest).

yup, quite a few files seem to be injected to openoffice folder during cryptpad installation

cryptpad@cryptpad:~/cryptpad$ ls www/common/onlyoffice
app-oo.less  current-version.js  history.js  inner.js  main.js  oocell_base.js  oodoc_base.js  ooiframe.js  ooslide_base.js  plugins.json

I recalled my backup
removed www/common/onlyoffice/and onlyoffice-conf/
run the upgrade procedure including./install-onlyoffice.sh

now everything seems to work

@Fineness9996 Thanks, I will try to write a final solution posting.

I'm unsure which way you took.

a) Download Onlyoffice by removing the old CryptPad Onlyoffice folder, then replaced missing files from your backuped old Cryptpad Onlyoffice folder and finally run CryptPad upgrade procedure again. (service restart or reboot at then end?).

b) Or did you try the reinstall and migration way? (According to your postings I would say no but I don't want to write unhelpful fanatasis to close this rather long thread.)

Remark:
@Fineness9996 , yes, you're right, the CryptPad OnlyOffice folder consists of downloaded Onlyoffice files AND files from the CryptPAd installer. See:

These are the files you had missing and needed the backup for. Ok, lesson learned, good to know.
