Problem
As technology advances there are created more distribution ways besides manual installation and normal docker. There may be known technologies like linux packages, portable apps (e.g. AppImage, Snap) and software configuration tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible) and less known ways like YunoHost.
Sooner or later these "other" users will search for support and contact CryptPad team / community via forum or chat. But they will not know the status of the distribution model regarding CryptPad (supported, not supported, FAQ), neither will do the CryptPad team / community.
Solution
To keep track of the established ways there should at least be a section in the installation section of the admin guide. This would be the first building block to clarify and expand this, so users can read about their way or report a missing way. Of course, mostly there will just be stated "not supported" and perhaps some links, but a) the beginning is always small and b) it's better than the current state (no mentioning).
Implementation
@Mathilde I can try to write such a small section (english draft) but of course not before I know the CryptPad team likes this so the work is not fruitless. If so please tell the favored way (forum post, git, other?).
Notes for me
- YunoHost
- Unraid
- external support links
- support status (unsupported)
- call for action (report unlisted ways, report know issues)
