I'd like to reiterate the importance of this: I would like to be able to use Cryptpad as a general-purpose web-based office suite, but several of my collaborators primarily access the web through their mobile devices. For them, the spreadsheets are practically unusable. I understand that this is an upstream issue, but unfortunately it's Cryptpad that is made inaccessible because of this. I'm not sure what the way forward is, but in the world as of 2023, mobile compatiblity is not optional for a web-based service. The desktop version is excellent, and I want to thank you for hard work. Unfortunately this is a massive limitation that is preventing me from adopting this tool for general use. If there's any way that other developers can help, I'd be happy to volunteer.

I cannot scroll spreadsheet on mobile. Am I doing something wrong or is cryptpad not functional on mobile?
Mathilde Hi, yes my phone is pixel 7a running Android 14 and the browser is Brave latest. For a screenshot, it all looks nice, but it is not possible for me to navigate the excel sheet, no zoom and no scrolling. So I don't think a screenshot would be much help.
Does scrolling sheets usually work on mobile? Does it work on iphones?
Thanks
Mathilde Thanks for the examples. You are right. I tried it on an iphone and it works. Now I tried again on Android and really fiddled with the scroll bar and it does move now but sporadically and not all the time, and not smoothly like on the iphone. Also the keyboard keeps popping up when I touch around the scrollbar. Do you have any experience with using sheets on Android?
I was really impressed with Cryptpad Sheets and wanted to use it to solve a specific use case but mobile support in Android was a blocker that forced me to go in a different direction. Still, I am a fan of this product and plan to follow it. I'd like to echo the comments on mobile and specifically Android - it's really unusable. I think @den comments hit home for me. But to add on to it - you shouldn't have to use scroll bars on mobile and so even if they worked reliably - it's still a blocker to adopting it for me. Also, the keyboard popping up all the time is another blocker. I run on a Samsung S21 Ultra w/Android 14 using Edge (and I tried with Chrome too which was similar). Finally I think the default view needs to show as much cell space as possible and there was a menu on the right that defaults to open that blocked the whole screen. Closing it took some learning that might scare other folks off.
When using sheets on mobile, it is difficult to do anything at all.
When using docs, it is difficult to copy and paste text. Everything else is excellent in my experience.
In our self-hosted cryptpad-instance it's not possible to select text in Word-documents on iPads
All other apps are working fine (as far we can see)
Also Word on desktop.
But not Word with iPad touchscreen.
Any ideas?
Hi all, I've come to this forum specifically because I've tried Cryptpad on mobile and I found out that the UI is the desktop one, so it is unusable on phones (most evident in Sheets).
However, Onlyoffice does have a mobile-friendly interface, as you can see from my screenshot (taken from the Nextcloud instance on Webo cloud).
Would it be possible for Cryptpad to use that UI when a mobile device is detected?
That would be a game changer...
tizianomattei very interesting!
Do you know which version of OnlyOffice they are using? I believe you can find that in the advanced settings section of the document you are currently editing.
I would make the same comments for GrapheneOS as for the comments above for Android OS.

From looking at the OnlyOffice changelog, it looks like the mobile web editors were added in 4.3.0:
https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/DocumentServer/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#430
Not sure what version Cryptpad is using.
Seems also like there should, if nothing else, be a "Switch to Mobile" button in the File Menu, per https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/DocumentServer/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#mobile-1 that doesn't seem to appear in cryptpad.
Not sure if that's helpful or not, I don't have a NextCloud setup to give a specific version number like you requested. Am hoping cryptcloud will be my google docs/sheets replacement instead of nextcloud, since it'll make collaborating way easier.
